Quebec Sovereignty???? selling abroad.

and what a wonderful day it is...the sun is shining, the sky is blue and Quebecer separatist Gilles Duceppe is stirring again about WHEN Quebec becomes its own country.

Go Gilles Go!!!! the faster you leave, the happier Canada will be!!!!
there are many benefits to Quebec leaving.....

1. no more forced french!!!! we won't have to have it any longer...on our packaging, on TV, in our government or schools.
2. we can finally make french schools that wish to exist turn into private schools and save the extra cash for public ones.
3. the money Quebec owes as their portion of the debt can go to the deficit. (that would make Harper happy...his bacon would be saved a bit.)
4. the cost of making money at the Canadian Mint would be less after all that Canadian currency is handed back.
5. any money given to Quebec to boost their economy would then go to provinces that need it!!!!
6. we would have 3 countries that hosted NHL games.
7. Canada would gain back its reputation for being nice, since all the quebec tourists would no longer represent us abroad.
8. We don't need their MAPLE SYRUP....ontario has lots.
9. Quebec leaving would finally force the federal government into coming up with alternative energies.
10. AND IT JUST SOUNDS GOOD......BYE BYE FRANC-A-FROGS!

it will be interesting to see how the Americans react to this drum-beating. i am sure that they may find it a bit disturbing and wonder about the stability of a new country and the services it says it can promise. will the Americans find it a good idea and manipulate Quebec to lower the cost of their business? Will there be stability since there is not Canadian Federal Government to aid them?
or is all this chin-wagging hot air because people are scared to step away from Canada to venture out into a brave new "heavily taxed" world.

if the people of Quebec think that their taxes won't increase they are dreaming.
Who exactly do they think will have to support all the new infrastructures that the new independent government will put into place. who will pay for things like.....new currency, new laws, new documents and papers and all the other things that will have to be started fresh......WITH NEW Q-DOLLARS

the city of Montreal could not pay for the Olympics!!!? how on earth will they pay for all this new STUFF???!!!!

Chip Bags Are Noisy???....landfills

Evening All,

well chalk it up to the american people for complaining to chip giant Frito-Lay saying the bags are too noisy! YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT....TOO NOISY!!!

a short time ago Frito-Lay decide to do their part to help reduce landfill, they designed a biodegradable bag that would not harm the environment.
WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!!!! REALLY!!!!! it was finally nice to see companies that are the largest generators of trash step up and pitch in
.....now here's the problem......
people began to email and write to Frito-Lay about (here it comes now) how noisy the bags were when they were crumpled up!!!! WHAT THE HELL????
YO...joe public.....here's a complicated solution to the problem...DON'T CRUMPLE THE DAMNED BAG YOU IDIOT.
so in light of these complaints...what does the chip company do....they are switching out all biodegradable bags on all their Sunchips but one.
SO MUCH FOR SAVING THE ENVIRONMENT???!!!!!
SHAME ON YOU FRITO-LAY for giving in to idiots. consummers they may be, but earth caring environmentalists they are not!
SHAME ON YOU JOE PUBLIC for not realizing that we have garbage coming out the wazoo and no place to store it anymore. but hey....you would have to have a brain for that one!!!!

so let me stay on the landfill theme ok....here are some interesting facts about other things that should not be in landfill sites.
pay attention....your world may depend on it eventually.

-Plastic bottles take 700 years to begin composting. the chemicals from the plastic leech into our water tables and could have horrific affects on us physically.

-90% of the cost of bottled water is due to the bottle itself. to melt down and product another plastic product or plastic bottle for our PLASTIC WORLD isn't cheap. for every bottle of water that is about $1.50, it costs about $1.11 for the plastic.

-80% of plastic bottles are not recycled. this is just sheer laziness or not caring about the environment. would this number go DOWN if we started fining people for misuse??? YOU BET YOUR ASS IT WOULD.

-38 million plastic bottles go to the dump per year in CANADA from bottled water (not including soda) what else can i say but....SAD

-24 million gallons of oil are needed to produce a billion plastic bottles. so all you idiots that throw away your plastic drinking bottles cuz ya don't give a chit...STOP WHINING ABOUT THE PRICE OF GAS.

-The average CANADIAN consumes 167 bottles of water a year. DRINK FROM THE TAP....its the same damned liquid as in your bottled water.

-Bottling and shipping water is the least energy efficient method ever used to supply water.

-Bottled water is the second most popular beverage in CANADA.
the first is COFFEE....and that doesn't come in plastic.

- Over 46,000 pieces of plastic debris float on every square mile of ocean.
SAVE THE WHALES and dolphins and sharks and seals and all the other creatures.

in recent years hard plastic which is used in hard water bottles, baby bottles and other hard plastic liquid containers are UNSAFE.

plastics made from polycarbonate resin can leach bisphenol-A (BPA), a potent hormone disruptor. BPA, a chemical found in epoxy resin and polycarbonate plastics, may impair the reproductive organs and have adverse effects on tumors, breast tissue development and prostate development by reducing sperm count. DID YA HERE THAT GUYS....YOU MAY LOSE SOME OF YOUR SWIMMERS!!!!
BPA can be leached into the water bottles contents through normal wear and tear, exposure to heat and cleaning agents. This includes leaving your plastic water bottle in your car during errands, in your back pack during hikes and running it through your dishwasher and using harsh detergents. OH AND ANOTHER HELPFUL HINT...don't heat your food in plastic either.

Charity Money To The Fund Raisers?..here's my IOU buddy!.

well, here it is! i have been waiting for something nice and juicy to sink my teeth into. the news has been dull lately, but TODAY.......its great!

DID YOU KNOW....that Canadians rank 3rd in the world as the most charitable donaters???!!!!!!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOOO CANADA!!!!

i just read an article about Charities and what portion goes to private fund raisers!!!???? DISGUSTING and shameful i might add.


from 2004 to 2008 $762 million dollars went to these ''fund raiser organizations." the total haul of private donations ( yes, that is joe-you and joe-me) was 32 billion. it may not seem like much....in fact close to 10%, but it is not like that in every case. there were over 200 cases investigated by CBC that showed the fund raiser was making more than the charity.
WANT SOME EXAMPLES......

- The Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, which paid $96,849 for a campaign that raised just $95,812.

- The Children's Leukemia Research Association Canada, which raised $4.2 million over the last four years, but paid $3.2 million of that to its external fundraiser.

- Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers, which raised $2.8 million between 2003 and 2009 — of which $2.2 million, or 79 per cent, went to pay its fundraiser.

This is so sad, why is the government allowing fund raisers to make more than the charity brings in????? THAT IS LIKE STEALING FOOD FROM A STARVING MAN!!!

Today, it's a $2.8-billion business and growing, with an average 35 cents of every dollar donated to charity going to pay fundraising costs.

how do we know where the money is going? how do we know who will get most of it? HOW DO YOU FIND OUT THESE TO AVOID THE PITFALLS OF FALSE HOPE FOR OTHERS? EASY....START BY ASKING SOME KEY QUESTIONS WHEN THEY CALL OR KNOCK....

- What is your CRA charitable registration number?

- Can you send me your audited financial statements?

- How much of my donation will be spent on costs?

If a charity's not going to be transparent with you on how it's spent money in the past, why would you give it a donation?

if they don't provide that info to you....then you are probably right in assuming that your money ain't clothing some cold kid, it ain't feeding some starving family, and it ain't finding the cure for some disease!! YOU CAN BE SURE....that joe-fund raiser will make the payment on his jaguar this month, have a great dinner out somewhere and laugh all the way to retirement because of YOUR GOOD HEARTED CANADIAN DONATION. can you spell ''sucker''

now don't get me wrong, i am sure not all charities pay such a high cost.
BUT I GUESS MY QUESTION IS......WHY SHOULD THEY HAVE TO PAY FOR IT AT ALL??

people from around the world are answering his call to protest his action. even his own government has asked that he not do that in the event that it will ignite or incite violence in other parts of the world towards American troops.

WHAT EXACTLY DOES THIS IDIOT....and i am calling this one correctly, THINK HE WILL ACCOMPLISH BY BURNING A BOOK? would he be upset and ready to burn down an embassy of a foreign nation if they burnt a bible???

good morning,

its been a while. i was on summer holidays....BUT I'M BACK!!!!!!

so i have been reading about the flooding in Pakistan and they are horrific to say the very least. hundreds of thousands of people are homeless and without food. the threat of disease has set in.
WHAT CAN WE DO???? help them.

diplomats, governments and the UN have surveyed and assessed the devastated area and all are saying that this is the WORST disaster of flooding ever. SO WHAT? EXACTLY WHAT ARE THEY DOING ABOUT IT??? not a lot really. they do what every country does....they throw money at the problem. don't get me wrong, Pakistan needs the money to rebuild the areas affected....but most of all they need MEDICINE AND FOOD.

WHY DON'T THE COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD START SENDING MEDICAL SUPPLIES AND FOOD??? WHY DON'T THEY SEND PEOPLE THAT ARE ORGANIZED TO DISTRIBUTE IT PROPERLY? WHY ARE THE GOVERNMENTS NOT TALKING TO THE PAKISTANI GOVERNMENT ABOUT GOING IN TO HELP? WHY ARE WE NOT SENDING PEOPLE TO COME UP WITH ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS?

MONEY IS NOT THE ANSWER ALL THE TIME. the PM said that he would contribute 33 million in aid....where will that money go?? WHO KNOWS? probably to the pockets of those who don't need it, probably to the bank accounts off shore to those that steal it.
HELP THESE PEOPLE.....individuals are everywhere raising money for these people. they are faceless, but they are not faceless in our hearts.

WHO CAN WE TRUST TO MAKE SURE MONEY AND SUPPLIES MAKE IT TO THE RIGHT PLACE? not the governments of the world that's for sure.
give it to Angelina Jolie...there is a better chance that she would find a way to have it distributed than any government.

SO HOW DO YOU HELP? easy, if you are reading this then you have a computer. if you have a computer then you can look up locally where to begin to help. don't just shrug it off and say that it is to far away from your world to matter....THIS IS YOUR WORLD!!!!! AND THE CITIZENS OF IT NEED YOUR HELP. do the right thing and find out how you can help. try OXFAM or CARE. THAT IS ONE PLACE TO START. see what your religious community is able to do....there are many ways.

governments have to begin to think of the long term as well. how will food be grown, what can be grown?? this is some of the long term planning that needs to be done right now. throwing money at a cause does not fix the long term affects.

so lets start off with something that warms my anger to boiling point. Yes, our fair government and its spending spree continues.

fresh off the G8 and G20 summits with leaders from around the world and a global promise to reduce debts, the minority federal government again has ANNOUNCED ANOTHER SPENDING SPREE!!!! oh my fellow Canadians, this one is like no other...and will cost the tax payers of this already burdened country even more....try 9 BILLION dollars more. Yes!!! whoohaaaa more taxes!
The federal government announced that it has awarded a contract to American Corporation Lockheed Martin to ship F-35 fighters to Canada. the first to arrive in 2016.
not only is the cost outrageous, (here it comes now...hang on...) but the federal government, in its ever growing infinite stupidity, has not allowed the contract to be BID on, but rather just awarded it to Lockheed Martin. this is OUTRAGEOUS!!!! why are we paying for fighters at a ridiculous cost and WHY DID THE GOVERNMENT NOT ALLOW OTHER BIDDERS????

can we not build planes in CANADA? does the ARROW not count as an example of our ability? (you know...the plane designed, built and tested here that the Americans stole by forceably bankrupting ARROW.) does our economy not need jobs...good paying jobs? does this not meet the criteria of the "make work program" that the government has been spouting out on TV commercials?
and the big question....HOW DOES A MINORITY GOVERNMENT SPEND THAT KIND OF MONEY WITH OUT ANY OPPOSITION, ON A ITEM THAT PRETTY MUCH FLIES IN THE FACE OF ITS OWN "PEACEKEEPING IMAGE"?

i am ashamed to call us peacekeepers! i am ashamed of this government for setting up rules and breaking them at the drop of a hat! i am ashamed that no one is really defending what i am saying! if the government continues in this money spending fashion, what will be left??
